A note about water
This property is on a rainwater collection system. We supplement and make sure that we have plenty for each stay. However, if you notice any leaks please let us know.
Also, as much as you can, please be mindful of your usage. We want you to enjoy your stay, of course, but just want you to be aware that we don't have unlimited water on top of the mountain here.
Can we build a fire?
Burke County has specific burn policies that vary by season and conditions. Before lighting any outdoor fire, please check the current burn policy at Burke County Open Burning or get a permit at NC Burn Permits.
Do you provide firewood?
We try to provide a starter set of firewood for each new stay. However, we recommend picking some up at one of the stores at the base of the mountain to be sure, especially if you think you'll have more than a short session.
Firewood is available at Lowe's in Morganton (1224 Burkemont Ave).
How are the roads getting up to the mountain?
For the most part, Burke County does a good job keeping the roads cleared off. Getting to this property off the main road is generally very easy.
Can we check in early or check out late?
We try to accommodate as best we can, but we want our cleaners to have ample time to prepare for other guests, so it's not always possible. Please ask and we will try.
If you know you will need to be early or late, you can request ahead of time and often we can block off the time for a fee to ensure that you get that.
Is propane provided for the grill?
Yes, propane is provided and there should be backup containers on site if it runs out.
How is the WiFi speed?
We have Starlink at this property, and speeds are typically very fast.
Obviously being in the mountains, we are subject to satellite and weather issues, but generally downtime is very rare.
Are towels and linens provided?
Yes, all towels and linens are provided. If you know that you will be heavy users of towels (if you have kids that like baths and lots of hot tub users, for example), packing a couple extra isn't a bad idea. But generally we have enough.
