Early Check-in / Late Check-out

We try to accommodate as best we can, but we want our cleaners to have ample time to prepare for other guests, so it's not always possible. Please ask and we'll try! If you know you'll need early/late times, you can request ahead and we can often block off the time for a fee.

Getting Here

The road to the property is flat and easy to navigate - no 4WD needed. You may see an old gate near the entrance, but it is never closed.

Before You Leave

• Start the dishwasher if there are dirty dishes
• Take out any trash to the outdoor bins
• Turn off lights and fans
• Make sure the hot tub cover is on
• Lock all doors

Please Keep in Mind

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. You may smoke outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Pets

Pet policies are specified in your booking. If pets are allowed, please keep them off furniture and clean up after them outside.

Noise

Please be respectful of neighbors, especially after 10 PM. Sound carries in the mountains!

Maximum Occupancy

This property sleeps 6 guests. Please do not exceed this number.

Staying Connected

WiFi

This property has Starlink satellite internet, which provides fast and reliable speeds - great for streaming and remote work.

Network name and password are included in your check-in message.

TV

The living room has a 55" Amazon Fire TV for streaming. You can log into your own Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming accounts. Please remember to log out before you leave!

Arcade Game

The arcade uses a TV as its screen. If the screen appears off, there's a remote at the bottom of the unit to turn it on.

Shuffleboard

The shuffleboard table (142" x 24") is ready for play! Extra shuffleboard sand/wax is stored in a cabinet underneath one end of the table.

Board Games

A selection of board games is available in the kids room closet.

Ceiling Fan Remote

The ceiling fan/light remote is wall-mounted between the kitchen and living room.

Using the Hot Tub

Your private hot tub is located on the deck with stunning mountain views. It's ready and waiting for you!

Temperature

• The hot tub is maintained at approximately 95°F
• To adjust temperature, use the controls on the side of the tub
• Allow 2-3 hours for significant temperature changes

Jets & Lights

• Jets: Press the Jets button to activate. Press again to change intensity or turn off.
• Lights: The light button cycles through colors.

Hot Tub Etiquette

• Please shower before getting in the hot tub. Dirt, body oils, lotions, and sunscreen can contaminate the water and clog the filters. A quick rinse keeps the tub clean for everyone!
• No glass containers near or in the hot tub
• Replace the cover when not in use to maintain temperature
• The cover lifter makes this easy - just lift and pivot

Towels

Hot tub towels are provided. Please use designated towels rather than bath towels.

Troubleshooting

Jets won't start	Check that the cover is fully removed. Some tubs have a safety sensor.
Water seems low	Please let us know. Do not add water yourself.
Error code on display	Take a photo and text us.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking during your stay.

Washer and dryer are located in the hallway off the bathroom. Detergent is provided.

Trash & Recycling

Trash bags are under the kitchen sink. Outdoor bins are located near the driveway.

Indoor Propane Fireplace

The living room has a propane fireplace for cozy evenings!

How to Light the Fireplace

1. Turn the knob counterclockwise to the pilot position
2. Depress and hold the ignition switch
3. Keep holding - it takes longer than you'd expect!
4. Listen for it to light (the sound is subtle)
5. Once lit, turn the knob counterclockwise again to increase the flame size

Outdoor Fire Pit

Before You Light a Fire

Burke County has specific burn policies that vary by season and conditions. Before lighting any outdoor fire:

• Check the current burn policy at Burke County Open Burning
• Or get a permit at NC Burn Permits

Firewood

We try to provide a starter set of firewood for each stay. However, we recommend picking some up if you plan on more than a short session.

Grill

The property has a propane gas grill on the deck.

Using the Grill

• Propane tank is connected and ready to use
• Turn on the propane valve, then ignite using the built-in igniter
• Always turn off the propane when done
• Grill brush and basic tools are provided

This cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeping up to 6 guests.

Linens

All bed linens and towels are provided. Extra blankets are available in the bedroom closets.

Climate Control

Thermostat

The property has a Nest thermostat located on the kitchen wall.

• Touch the display to wake it, then turn the outer ring to adjust temperature
• We recommend keeping it around 70-72°F
• The system handles both heating and cooling

Ceiling fans are available throughout the house. The remote is wall-mounted between the kitchen and living room.
