Early Check-in / Late Check-out

We try to accommodate as best we can, but we want our cleaners to have ample time to prepare for other guests, so it's not always possible. Please ask and we'll try! If you know you'll need early/late times, you can request ahead and we can often block off the time for a fee.

Getting Here

Standard GPS navigation should work well for this property. The address is 6913 Burkemont Rd, Morganton, NC 28655.

Tesla Charger

A Tesla charger is available on the property for EV owners!

Before You Leave

• Start the dishwasher if there are dirty dishes
• Take out any trash to the outdoor bins
• Turn off lights, fans, and heaters
• Make sure the hot tub cover is on
• Important: Return the outdoor TV to the stored position (see TV section)
• Lock all doors

Please Keep in Mind

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. You may smoke outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Pets

Pet policies are specified in your booking. If pets are allowed, please keep them off furniture and clean up after them outside.

Noise

Please be respectful of neighbors, especially after 10 PM. Sound carries in the mountains!

Maximum Occupancy

This property sleeps 14 guests. Please do not exceed this number.

Pool Safety

The pool area has self-closing, self-latching gates for safety. Please ensure children are supervised at all times around the pool.

Staying Connected

WiFi

This property has Starlink satellite internet, which provides fast and reliable speeds - great for streaming and remote work.

Network name and password are included in your check-in message.

TVs

Smart TVs are available throughout the house:

• Living Room: 60" Roku TV above the fireplace
• Bedrooms: Each of the 4 main bedrooms has its own 50" Roku TV
• Upstairs Bunk Room: 55" TCL TV
• Game Room: 55-60" TCL TV (connected to gaming system)

You can log into your own streaming accounts - please remember to log out before you leave!

Outdoor TV

The deck features a TV on a powered articulating arm:

• To lower for viewing: Press OK + Down (continues until you press OK again)
• To raise/store: Press OK + Up
• To rotate left/right: Same method with left/right buttons
• Memory 1: Watching position
• Memory 2: Stored/up position

Gaming System

The TV above the stairs is connected to a gaming system:

• Press the Input button (top left - arrow pointing into rectangle)
• Select the gaming input
• Use the controller to play
• To return to streaming, press the Home button

Using the Pool

The property features a beautiful heated pool with mountain views!

Pool Heating

The pool can be heated based on the season:

Summer	No charge (pool set at 80°F)
Shoulder Months	$100/day heating fee
Winter	$150/day heating fee

We start heating at noon on your arrival day and cut off at 10pm on your last night. The fee is charged per night for the full stay.

Pool Safety

• The pool area has self-closing, self-latching gates
• An alarm on the house door to the pool area alerts when opened
• No glass containers in the pool area
• Children must be supervised at all times

Outdoor Bathroom

There's a convenient outdoor bathroom near the pool area.

Using the Hot Tub

Your private hot tub is located on the deck.

Temperature

• The hot tub is maintained at approximately 95°F
• To adjust temperature, use the controls on the side of the tub
• Allow 2-3 hours for significant temperature changes

Hot Tub Etiquette

• Please shower before getting in the hot tub. Dirt, body oils, lotions, and sunscreen can contaminate the water and clog the filters. A quick rinse keeps the tub clean for everyone!
• No glass containers near or in the hot tub
• Replace the cover when not in use to maintain temperature

Towels

Hot tub towels are provided. Please use designated towels rather than bath towels.

Pickleball Court

The property features its own pickleball court! Equipment is available in the outdoor game box.

Putting Green

Practice your short game on the putting green!

Upstairs Game Room

The upstairs game room features:

• Ping-Pong/Pool Table: Combo table for both games
• Shuffleboard Table: Full-size with bowling pin option
• Gaming System: Connected to the TV above the stairs
• Seating: Chaise lounge, couch, and gaming benches with storage

Yard Games

Cornhole boards and other yard games are available for outdoor enjoyment.

Propane Fire Pit

The outdoor fire pit is propane-powered (not wood) for easy use!

How to Light the Fire Pit

1. Make sure the propane valve is open
2. Turn on the switch on the wall near the fire pit
3. Press the igniter button on the fire pit
4. It can take up to 45 seconds for the fire to light - this delay is normal!

Indoor Fireplace

The living room has an electric fireplace (not wood-burning) that puts out real heat!

How to Use

• The white switch by the side door (closest to the fireplace) must be in the ON position
• Then control with buttons on the face of the fireplace OR use the remote
• Remote is kept on the right side of the fireplace

Outdoor Heaters

The deck has 3 Bromic propane heaters for comfortable outdoor time in cooler weather.

How to Use

• Push the time button (5/10/15/30/60 minutes)
• Press the power button to turn off

Front House Lights

The front exterior lights are on an automatic timer and turn on/off each night on a set schedule.

If You Need to Turn Them Off

• The lights are controlled by an Intermatic astronomic controller in the washroom
• Open the controller box
• Push the on/off switches on the right side once to turn off
• The lights will automatically resume their normal cycle the next night

Grill

The property has a propane gas grill on the front porch (which also has a couch and chairs for relaxing).

• Propane tank is connected and ready to use
• An extra tank is available
• Turn on the propane valve, then ignite using the built-in igniter
• Always turn off the propane when done

Main Floor - 4 Identical Suites

Each of the 4 main floor bedrooms features:

• King bed
• 50" Roku TV (remote in wall holder)
• Private en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower (no tub)

Upstairs Bunk Room

• 3 sets of bunk beds = 6 twin beds
• 55" TCL TV
• Shared bathroom with double vanity and shower/tub combo

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for large groups.

We provide a starter supply of coffee and K-cups. With a large group, you may want to bring extra!

Laundry

Washer and dryer are located in the washroom. Detergent is provided.

Trash & Recycling

Trash bags are under the kitchen sink. Outdoor bins are located near the driveway.

Climate Control

Thermostats

Thermostats are located in the main hallway and control central HVAC for the home. We recommend keeping them around 70-72°F.

Electric Fireplace

The living room electric fireplace provides additional heat (see Fire Pit section for instructions).

Outdoor Heaters

Three Bromic propane heaters on the deck keep outdoor spaces comfortable in cooler weather.
