Arrival Information

Early Check-in / Late Check-out

We try to accommodate as best we can, but we want our cleaners to have ample time to prepare for other guests, so it's not always possible. Please ask and we'll try! If you know you'll need early/late times, you can request ahead and we can often block off the time for a fee.

Getting Here

The property is located just past a wedding venue on Burkemont Road. Look for the large white 6883 sign at the driveway.

Entrances

The property has two entrances - front door and side door. Both use smart locks with codes provided in your check-in message.

Before You Leave

• Start the dishwasher if there are dirty dishes
• Take out any trash to the outdoor bins
• Turn off lights and fans on all levels
• Make sure the hot tub cover is on
• Lock all doors

Please Keep in Mind

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. You may smoke outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Pets

Pet policies are specified in your booking. If pets are allowed, please keep them off furniture and clean up after them outside.

Noise

Please be respectful of neighbors, especially after 10 PM. Sound carries in the mountains!

This property sleeps 14 guests. Please do not exceed this number.

This property has Starlink satellite internet with Eero mesh network throughout, providing excellent coverage on all levels including the basement.

Using the Hot Tub

Your private hot tub is located outside with beautiful mountain views.

Temperature

• The hot tub is maintained at approximately 95°F
• To adjust temperature, use the controls on the side of the tub
• Allow 2-3 hours for significant temperature changes

Jets & Lights

• Jets: Press the Jets button to activate. Press again to change intensity or turn off.
• Lights: The light button cycles through colors.

String Lights

The fire pit area has string lights. The switch is mounted on the post outside upstairs.

Hot Tub Etiquette

• Please shower before getting in the hot tub. Dirt, body oils, lotions, and sunscreen can contaminate the water and clog the filters. A quick rinse keeps the tub clean for everyone!
• No glass containers near or in the hot tub
• Replace the cover when not in use to maintain temperature

Towels

Hot tub towels are provided. Please use designated towels rather than bath towels.

The property has TWO washer/dryer sets - one on the main level and one in the basement. Detergent is provided.

Trash & Recycling

Trash bags are under the kitchen sinks. Outdoor bins are located near the driveway.

Fire Pit

Before You Light a Fire

Burke County has specific burn policies that vary by season and conditions. Before lighting any outdoor fire:

• Check the current burn policy at Burke County Open Burning
• Or get a permit at NC Burn Permits

String Lights

The fire pit area has string lights for ambiance. The switch is on the post outside upstairs.

Firewood

We try to provide a starter set of firewood for each stay. However, we recommend picking some up if you plan on more than a short session, especially with a large group.

Grill

The property has a propane gas grill.

Using the Grill

• Propane tank is connected and ready to use
• Turn on the propane valve, then ignite using the built-in igniter
• Always turn off the propane when done

Climate Control

Thermostats

The property has two thermostats to control heating and cooling:

• Main Level: Located in the hallway off the kitchen
• Upstairs: Located in the upstairs hallway

We recommend setting both to around 72°F for comfortable temperatures throughout the house.
