Early Check-in / Late Check-out

We try to accommodate as best we can, but we want our cleaners to have ample time to prepare for other guests, so it's not always possible. Please ask and we'll try! If you know you'll need early/late times, you can request ahead and we can often block off the time for a fee.

Getting Here

This property is in a gated community. Your gate code will be provided in your check-in message.

About the Driveway

The driveway is steeper than our other properties. It's possible to make it without AWD or 4WD, but much more difficult. We strongly recommend using AWD or 4WD if you have it available.

Finding the property: After turning up the gravel road, the cabin is the first house on the left.

Before You Leave

• Start the dishwasher if there are dirty dishes
• Take out any trash to the outdoor bins
• Turn off lights, fans, and heating units
• If you used the fireplace, ensure fire is completely out and close the flue
• Make sure the hot tub cover is on
• Leave hot tub privacy curtains OPEN (they get damaged in wind)
• Lock all doors

Please Keep in Mind

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. You may smoke outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Pets

Pet policies are specified in your booking. If pets are allowed, please keep them off furniture and clean up after them outside.

Noise

Please be respectful of neighbors, especially after 10 PM. Sound carries in the mountains!

Maximum Occupancy

This property sleeps 6 guests. Please do not exceed this number.

Staying Connected

WiFi

This property has internet via SkyRunner. Speeds are around 10 Mbps - good for streaming and basic browsing, but may be slow for video calls or heavy remote work.

Network name and password are included in your check-in message.

TVs

Smart TVs are available for streaming. You can log into your own Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming accounts. Please remember to log out before you leave!

Using the Hot Tub

Your private hot tub has a gazebo with privacy curtains since it's close to a neighboring home.

Temperature

• The hot tub is maintained at approximately 95°F
• To adjust temperature, use the controls on the side of the tub
• Allow 2-3 hours for significant temperature changes

Jets

Jets are controlled by a switch on the porch near the outlet.

Privacy Curtains

• Feel free to close the curtains while using the hot tub for privacy
• Important: Please leave curtains OPEN when not using the hot tub - they can get damaged by wind when closed

Hot Tub Etiquette

• Please shower before getting in the hot tub. Dirt, body oils, lotions, and sunscreen can contaminate the water and clog the filters. A quick rinse keeps the tub clean for everyone!
• No glass containers near or in the hot tub
• Replace the cover when not in use to maintain temperature

Towels

Hot tub towels are provided. Please use designated towels rather than bath towels.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking during your stay.

We provide a starter supply of coffee. If you're heavy coffee drinkers, you may want to bring extra!

Washer and dryer are available. Detergent is provided.

Trash & Recycling

Trash bags are under the kitchen sink. Outdoor bins are located near the driveway.

Indoor Fireplace

This cabin has a wood burning fireplace (NOT gas) for that cozy cabin atmosphere!

Using the Fireplace

• Open the flue FIRST before starting a fire (handle is inside the fireplace)
• Use the provided fireplace tools
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Make sure fire is completely out before going to bed or leaving
• Close the flue when not in use to keep the house warm
• Please clean up any mess before leaving

Outdoor Fire Pit

Before You Light a Fire

Burke County has specific burn policies that vary by season and conditions. Before lighting any outdoor fire:

• Check the current burn policy at Burke County Open Burning
• Or get a permit at NC Burn Permits

Firewood

We try to provide a starter set of firewood for each stay. However, we recommend picking some up if you plan on using both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit.

Grill

The property has a propane gas grill.

Using the Grill

• Propane tank is connected and ready to use
• Turn on the propane valve, then ignite using the built-in igniter
• Always turn off the propane when done

This cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeping up to 6 guests.

Bedroom 1 (Main Floor)

• Queen bed (76" x 58")

Bedroom 2 (Upstairs)

• Full bed (74" x 55")

Bedroom 3 (Upstairs)

• Twin beds (72" x 36" each)

Linens

All bed linens and towels are provided. Extra blankets are available in the closets.

Climate Control

Wall Heater

The cabin has a Rinnai propane wall heater for primary heating. Adjust the thermostat on the unit to your desired temperature.

Downstairs - Nest Thermostat

Located in the hallway, controls the heat pump. We recommend setting it to around 72°F.

• Touch the inner rim near the wall to wake the display
• Turn the outer ring to adjust temperature

Upstairs - Separate Thermostat

The upstairs has its own separate thermostat for the GE wall unit (provides both heating and cooling). During winter, keep it on the heat setting.

Wood Burning Fireplace

For extra warmth and atmosphere, use the wood burning fireplace (see Fireplace section for instructions).
